2016 Compak Golden Bean North America recognizes best roasters
After three days of intense judging and 10 educational workshops and discussions, the 100+ judges of the Compak Golden Bean North America—held for the second year in Portland, Ore.—determined the top winners, as well as a bevy of outstanding, silver- and bronze-medal-winning coffees.
2013 World Barista Champion Pete Licata oversaw judging with Golden Bean veteran Anne Cooper, at the Compak Golden Bean North America event in Portland, Oregon, September 13-16.
These categories were judges during the massive Compak Golden Bean North America competition last week.
For the second year in a row, Klatch Coffee in Southern California took home one of the two coveted Golden Bean trophies, made by trophy master Reg Barber. Klatch was recognized for being the Outstanding Franchise/Chain, while Florida-based Oceana Coffee for Overall Compak Golden Bean Champion.
Klatch Coffee is honored with the trophy for Best Franchise/Chain.
Oceana Coddee is recognized with the trophy for Overall Compak Golden Bean Champion.
