We are thrilled to announce the 1st International Cold Brew Coffee Throwdown, which will take place on April 15, at a party hosted by Stumptown Coffee, Rogue Ales, and Barista Magazine, being held at the fantastic Chrome Yellow Trading Co., in Atlanta, in conjunction with the SCAA show.
Fifteen baristas will compete in a creative, interactive competition on the evening of Friday, April 15, to win big prizes, including $2,000 from Pacific Foods, as well as gifts and equipment from Marco, La Marzocco, Espresso Parts, and Baratza, along with party sponsors Barista Magazine, Stumptown, and Rogue Ales.
Competitors are encouraged to use whatever coffee roaster they want in this competition wherein they will prepare straight-up cold brew as well as a cold-brew signature drink to sample out to attendees as well as present to a panel of esteemed judges.
The throwdown is being held during the release party for the bottled Cold Brew IPA just released by Portland, Ore.-based craft brewery Rogue Ales, which uses Stumptown’s cold-brew coffee.
